"Brought in my father's old Seiko that had been sitting in a drawer for years. They assessed it, sent me a written estimate the next day, and I approved the overhaul from there. Took about five and a half weeks. The photographs showing the movement before and after were something I didn't expect — a genuinely useful addition. Watch is keeping good time again."

"Had a strap replaced on a vintage piece — not a standard width, so most places couldn't help. Quilletta sourced a proper leather strap in the right lug width within a few days and fitted it without rushing. The only reason it's four stars rather than five is that the turnaround was a day longer than initially estimated, though they did call to let me know before the deadline passed."

"The quartz module on my dress watch had been erratic for months. They identified the issue during the first assessment and gave me a clear written quote. The replacement movement they sourced had the same stem position as the original, so the crown fit perfectly. Nothing looked disturbed. I appreciated that they checked with me before ordering the part."

"I've used three different repair shops over the years for my watches. The difference here is transparency. Most places tell you the price only when you collect. Quilletta gave me a written estimate after the inspection and confirmed before starting work. That alone puts them ahead. The bracelet refinishing on my steel watch was clean — original brushed pattern preserved."

"My grandmother's watch came in needing a full service. The condition report they provided after the initial inspection was detailed enough to tell me things about the movement that the previous shop hadn't mentioned in years. Hafiz took the time to explain what was worn and what could still be used. That kind of conversation is rare."

"I went in expecting a quick battery swap but was told the movement itself needed replacing. I was a bit cautious about the cost, but they explained everything clearly and didn't push. The price they quoted was what I paid. Watch runs well now. I'd return for future work."

Detailed Service Records

Case Study 01 · Complete Overhaul

Challenge

A 1987 automatic watch arrived with erratic rate, intermittent winding action, and surface corrosion on the case. The client had not serviced it in over twenty years and was uncertain whether it was worth the expense.

Solution

Following the condition assessment, the client approved a full overhaul. Movement was disassembled and cleaned ultrasonically. Worn mainspring and three degraded jewel bearings were replaced. Case received selective polishing while retaining brushed surfaces.

Outcome

Rate measured at +4 seconds per day on completion. Client received the condition dossier with movement photographs. Watch has been worn daily for over four months without returning under warranty.

Duration: 6.5 weeks

"I expected it to be less impressive than I hoped — it's older than I am. It came back looking and working better than the last time I wore it seriously."

Case Study 02 · Bracelet Sourcing

Challenge

A client brought a discontinued mid-1990s reference with a missing end-link and a stretched, damaged bracelet. The manufacturer no longer supplied parts for this reference and several local workshops had declined the job.

Solution

Our parts specialist sourced a matching end-link through a specialist parts trader within two weeks. The bracelet was polished and sized, and the clasp mechanism was repaired rather than replaced after inspection confirmed the folding mechanism remained functional.

Outcome

Watch returned with original bracelet configuration restored. Total time from intake to collection was eight working days. Client paid only for the bracelet service — no unnecessary additional work was suggested.

Duration: 8 working days

Case Study 03 · Quartz Module

Challenge

A lady's dress watch with a non-standard dial configuration — multiple sub-dials and an unusual dial foot arrangement — needed a quartz module replacement. Incorrect module sizing would have required dial modification.

Solution

The watchmaker identified a compatible caliber with matching stem position and dial foot spacing. The client was consulted before the module was ordered. Installation preserved the original dial without any modification to the feet or finishing.

Outcome

Dial layout, hand alignment, and crown position unchanged from the original. Watch returned within six working days and has since been confirmed accurate at the client's own assessment.

Duration: 6 working days
