Introduction
About These Terms
These terms and conditions apply to all watch repair, servicing, and related work carried out by Quilletta ("we", "us", "our") at our workshop located at 14 Lorong Maarof, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. By leaving a watch with us or requesting our services, you agree to these terms.
If any aspect of these terms is unclear, please ask before leaving your watch. We are happy to explain our process and what these terms mean in practice.
Section 01
Acceptance of Watches for Service
When you bring a watch for service, we will issue a receipt describing the piece and noting any pre-existing condition (scratches, damage, missing parts). Please review this receipt carefully and raise any discrepancies before leaving the workshop. The receipt constitutes the initial record of the watch's condition.
We accept watches on the understanding that:
- You are the owner of the watch or have the owner's authority to submit it for service
- You have disclosed any known damage, prior repairs, or modifications
- You understand that our initial assessment is preliminary until work commences
Section 02
Estimates and Pricing
Our listed service prices (MYR 180, MYR 320, MYR 1,680) represent the standard cost for the respective service under typical conditions. For straightforward cases, the final invoice will match the stated price.
For the Complete Overhaul Package and any complex work, we provide a written estimate after initial inspection. Work will only proceed once you have approved this estimate. If additional issues are discovered during disassembly, we will contact you with a revised estimate before continuing.
An inspection fee of MYR 50 may apply if you decline the estimate following a full disassembly inspection. This covers the cost of the watchmaker's time in assessing the piece. This fee will be communicated to you before disassembly begins.
All prices include applicable service tax where required by Malaysian law.
Section 03
Turnaround Times
Indicated turnaround times are working estimates based on typical workload and parts availability:
- Strap and Bracelet Services: 3 to 5 working days
- Quartz Module Replacement: 5 to 7 working days
- Complete Overhaul Package: 5 to 8 weeks
These timeframes may extend if parts require sourcing from suppliers, if unexpected complications arise during service, or during periods of high workshop volume. We will keep you informed if your watch is likely to take longer than indicated.
We do not offer a guaranteed completion date, and turnaround estimates are not binding commitments. We will not accept liability for consequential losses arising from delays.
Section 04
Parts and Materials
Where possible, we source original manufacturer parts or parts matching the original specification. For older or discontinued models, we may use compatible aftermarket parts of equivalent quality. We will inform you if original parts are unavailable and discuss alternatives before proceeding.
Replaced parts are available for collection on request if you wish to retain them. Uncollected replaced parts are disposed of after 30 days.
Section 05
Service Warranty
The Complete Overhaul Package carries a six-month service warranty on the watchmaker's labour and parts supplied. This warranty covers defects arising from the service work itself and does not extend to:
- Damage resulting from impact, water ingress beyond the tested rating, or misuse after collection
- Normal wear of consumable components such as batteries
- Issues unrelated to the scope of work performed
- Watches that have been subsequently opened or adjusted by another party
Other services carry a 30-day workmanship guarantee on the specific work performed. To make a warranty claim, return the watch to our workshop with your original receipt.
Section 06
Liability and Risk
We take reasonable care of all watches entrusted to us. Our workshop is not a public facility, and we maintain appropriate security measures during working hours.
Our liability for loss or damage while a watch is in our care is limited to the repair cost for damage directly attributable to our negligence. We do not accept liability for:
- Pre-existing faults or concealed damage not disclosed at intake
- Wear or deterioration consistent with the watch's age
- Damage to a case or crystal that was already weakened prior to service
- Loss of sentimental or assessed market value
We recommend that valuable or irreplaceable watches be covered under your personal property insurance prior to submission. We are happy to provide a written condition report on request to support an insurance valuation.
Section 07
Collection and Uncollected Watches
Once your watch is ready, we will contact you via the phone number or email provided at intake. Please collect your watch within 30 days of notification.
Watches not collected within 30 days may incur a storage fee of MYR 10 per week. Watches left uncollected for 6 months without communication from the owner may, at our discretion, be disposed of to recover outstanding costs. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking any such step.
Payment is due upon collection. We accept cash and major credit and debit cards. We do not release a watch until the invoice is settled.
Section 08
Cancellation and Refusal of Work
You may cancel a service before work commences, in which case no charge applies. Once work has begun, you will be charged for the proportion of work completed plus any parts already sourced on your behalf.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue work on any watch if, upon further examination, we determine that completing the service would not be in the watch's interest or is outside our current capacity. In such cases, we will return the watch in the same condition we received it and explain our reasons.
Section 09
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from services provided by Quilletta shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We encourage clients to contact us directly to resolve any concern before pursuing formal remedies.
